A closer look at wrinkles Sofwave dermal ultrasound
Parallel ultrasound energy delivered to the dermis at approximately 1.5 mm, with planning tailored to firmness and wrinkle concerns.

Understand where wrinkles begin
Sofwave is a non-invasive medical device using SUPERB™ technology to deliver multiple parallel ultrasound beams simultaneously. A thermal response at approximately 1.5 mm in the dermis supports subsequent collagen and elastin remodeling for firmness and wrinkle concerns. Its delivery depth differs from treatments aimed directly at fat.
- Supports collagen and elastin remodeling
- Consultation for brow and contour lifting
- Skin tightening and fine-line concerns

Different stages of change One individualized assessment
Changes in dermal collagen and elastic fibers can contribute to wrinkles and laxity. Treatment is not determined by age alone: thickness, firmness and facial volume are reviewed together.
- 30s · Early firmness changes or fine lines around the eyes and mouth
- 40s · Forehead wrinkles and firmness changes across several areas
- 50s and beyond · A broader review of eyelid, cheek and neck wrinkles or laxity
Targeting the dermis at approximately 1.5 mm
SUPERB™ (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam) delivers parallel ultrasound to the dermis at approximately 1.5 mm. Remodeling follows the thermal response and healing process. Integrated cooling helps protect the surface and manage discomfort.
- Approximately 1.5 mm dermis
- Surface cooling
- 7 parallel ultrasound beams

A different depth and delivery from focused ultrasound
Some focused ultrasound treatments create small thermal points in deeper layers, such as 3.0 or 4.5 mm. Sofwave delivers parallel beams to approximately 1.5 mm in the dermis. Suitability depends on wrinkles, laxity, skin thickness and facial anatomy.

Sofwave lifting with parallel beams
The technology is designed to form seven cylindrical thermal-response zones simultaneously. Collagen and elastin remodeling supports gradual change. Illustrations explain the mechanism and do not represent a treatment result.

How Sofwave works
Multiple beams reach an area of the dermis at approximately 1.5 mm. Coverage, energy and pulse count are adjusted for skin condition. A lean face still requires individual suitability assessment.

Questions before Sofwave
How does it differ from Ultherapy PRIME?
Sofwave delivers parallel ultrasound to the dermis at about 1.5 mm. Ultherapy PRIME uses real-time ultrasound imaging to guide microfocused energy at multiple tissue depths. Suitability requires assessment.
Does 100 pulses mean the same coverage for everyone?
Pulse count alone does not determine coverage or results. Area and energy are planned around thickness, firmness and individual goals.
What about discomfort and recovery?
Cooling is used, but heat and pain can occur. Anesthesia, comfort management and daily-life guidance are individualized. Pain-free treatment or zero recovery is not guaranteed.
When might changes be seen?
Remodeling-related changes may be assessed over weeks to months. Timing, degree and duration depend on skin condition and lifestyle.
